Who we are
Borough Web Works is a web design studio in Toronto, Ontario. This policy covers www.boroughwebworks.ca. Questions about your information go to [email protected] or (647) 648-8033.
What we collect
- When you send an enquiry: your name, email, phone number (optional), business type, your message, and any package you picked.
- How you found us: if you arrive from an ad, a tagged link or another website, your browser remembers the campaign name, Google Ads click ID, referring site and first page you visited for up to 90 days. This is stored on your device and only sent to us if you submit an enquiry.
- Spam protection: to limit repeat submissions we keep a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address that changes every day. We don’t store your actual IP address.
- Site usage: Google Analytics uses cookies to tell us which pages are visited, roughly where visitors are (city level), what device they use, and whether they clicked to call, email or send an enquiry.
How we use it
To reply to you, prepare quotes, deliver the work you hire us for, understand which pages and ads bring in enquiries, and keep the site secure. We don’t sell your information or share it for anyone else’s marketing.
Services that handle it for us
- Cloudflare hosts the site, protects it from attacks, and stores enquiries in our private database.
- Formspree emails us each enquiry.
- Google Analytics measures site visits, and Google Ads reports which ads led to an enquiry.
These companies may process information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it is subject to local law.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries for as long as we need them to reply, work with you and keep normal business records. You can ask us to delete yours at any time.
Your choices
- Email [email protected] to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you. We’ll reply within 30 days.
- You can block or clear cookies in your browser, or install Google’s Analytics opt-out add-on. The site works fine without them.
- If you’re not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Changes
If we change this policy we’ll update it here and change the date at the top.
